Over the years, I have presented events on a wide variety of space and Earth science topics for adults and children. Here is a list of the most popular topics that I have presented in the last few years. These topics tend to change depending on the current NASA missions. I have done most of these topics both in person and through virtual presentations.
- Living and Working on the International Space Station
- Pluto and New Horizons
- Climate Change and the Oceans
- From the Moon to Mars including the NASA Artemis Missions
- Mars and Mars Rovers including Curiosity and Perseverance
- Near Earth Objects and Defending the Planet
- James Webb Space Telescope
You can also see a couple of talks on my YouTube Channel
Below is a selection of images from some of the presentations that I’ve given over the last 10 years as part of the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador Program.
Other ideas
In addition to these types of events, I have also consulted with others on space science, climate change and Earth science curriculum, classroom projects, summer camp activities, grant proposals, FIRST robotics, and participated in Science Olympiad as a coach. If you don’t see something here that interests you, just ask!
Details on event planning
Please keep in mind that the Solar System Ambassador program through NASA is all volunteer based. This means we are not employees of NASA and we do not get paid for our work as ambassadors. If you have a presentation idea that requires a large amount of materials, I will need the host to provide the supplies. I also have a limited range that I travel without reimbursement of travel expenses. Currently I am only traveling within Washtenaw County in Michigan. Also, I find that it works best to contact me a few months before your planned event so we can properly plan and advertise.
If you are looking for someone to provide a star watching party or telescopes for an event, I highly recommend contacting a local astronomy club or someone that is part of the NASA Night Sky Network.
